Why We Love This Hotel

  • Culloden Estate and Spa was built as a palace for the Bishops of Down in 1875. It sits in 12 acres of gardens and woodland on the shore of Belfast Lough. The Daily Telegraph describes its location as "heavenly" and "stunning".
  • There's a wide choice of dining options, including a bar serving drinks, light meals, and afternoon tea; the fine-dining Vespers restaurant; and the Cultra Inn, a casual pub and bistro.
  • The hotel offers bike hire and there's also a health club and spa with a fitness centre, a swimming pool, and a range of ESPA treatments (supplements apply). In 2023, it won Northern Ireland's Best Spa Hotel at the World Spa Awards.
  • Part of the award-winning Hastings Hotels group, the Culloden Estate is also the only Northern Irish property included in the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection.
  • From nearby Cultra railway station, you can reach central Belfast in around 15 minutes. As well as the Titanic Museum, be sure to visit the Cathedral Quarter and the free-to-enter Botanic Gardens.
  • Famous former guests include musicians Dolly Parton and Lionel Richie; sporting legends including John McEnroe and David Beckham; and screen royalty including Christopher Plummer and Gillian Anderson.
