Myhotel Brighton is all about the design -- there are curved walls inset with crystals, space-age white cocoons with bright splashes of colour, and a penthouse with its own 300-year-old carousel horse. Set in the buzzing area between the trendy North Laine shopping district and the Royal Pavillion, the hotel is a 10-minute walk from Brighton Pier and the seafront.
The canteen-style 2-AA-Rosette-Awarded and Michelin-listed Chilli Pickle is myhotel Brighton's multiple-award-winning eaterie -- it was named one of the top 10 restaurants in Brighton by Condé Nast Traveller, and is consistently listed among the top 100 restaurants in the UK at the National Restaurant Awards. The menu features Nepalese street food and adventurous Asian fusion cuisine. There's also a stylish, chrome-clad Merkaba cocktail bar and a Small Batch Coffee café with its own brew bar and micro roaster.
The hotel prides itself on giving personalised attention to guests, and staff will provide bespoke suggestions based on your personal preferences. It also partners with Friends of the Earth and is dedicated to respecting the environment, which is reflected in the choice of toiletries offered in the public and guest bathrooms. The individually styled Standard Double, Superior Double and Deluxe bedrooms are spread across three colour-themed floors in orange, green and blue. Each one has a crystal light display and funky geometric artwork on the mostly curved white walls, which are enhanced with bright pops of colour, floor-to-ceiling windows and an integrated sound system. Deluxe Rooms have huge floating beds and wall-to-wall windows with panoramic views over the city.
Studios are even more decadent, with individualised themes corresponding to their names – Bamboo, Jade and Heaven. Designed by local artists, they feature a circular bed and a free-standing bath. The Carousel Room has a 4-poster bed and a 300-year-old vintage wooden carousel horse. For complete seclusion, stay in the Chapel Townhouse, which is just around the corner but still part of the hotel. A silver-leafed door opens onto a winding staircase, which leads to the bedroom with its stained-glass window overlooking Brighton Corn Exchange and The Dome, and it also has a free-standing silver-leaf bathtub.
