Map & Directions

It’s a 30-40 minute drive from JFK Airport, depending on the traffic, and a taxi will cost approximately $50, not including tip or tolls. Alternatively, take the Air Train from the airport to Jamaica Station and switch to the E train subway into Manhattan and get off at Canal Street (three blocks from hotel). The ride will take a little over an hour, but only costs $7.50.

Slick and cool, The James Hotel New York oozes all things urban -- loft-like rooms, big-city nightlife and designer labels everywhere. To top it off, the 5-star hotel has an enviable downtown address surrounded by the cafes and boutiques of SoHo. It is also just one block from the nearest Subway.

One of the few high-rise buildings in this part of town, the 18-storey James Hotel has 360-degree city views from its rooftop lounge, Jimmy, which is open year-round. In summer, this spot is particularly popular for its private rooftop pool (open seasonally). Downstairs, the Urban Garden features pieces from local artists, outdoor dining and a buzzing post-work drinking scene. Overlooking the pretty spot is the cosy James Club, which has daily complimentary drinks and snacks on offer.

Though dining options in this neighbourhood are plentiful, a visit to the on-site David Burke Kitchen (the celebrity chef runs the restaurant) is a must. Tuck into nibbles such as maple-bacon dates or smoked pastrami salmon sticks, accompanied by a specialty cocktail at the bar, before sampling any of a number of inventive entrées in the subterranean dining room.

The light-filled guestrooms are luxurious with glass enclosed slate-tiled bathrooms, plush organic bedding and rainfall showerheads. Enjoy free in-room Wi-Fi, triple distilled water (refreshed twice daily) and nightly turndown service.

Children and additional guests: Children ages 7 and under stay free of charge when sharing parents’ room and using existing bedding (on request).Cribs are not available.

Extra bed available on request: $40 per night for children and adults.

Charges will be added to your bill on checkout.

Pets: Pets are allowed on request and will be charged a $75 (subject to tax) non-refundable cleaning fee per stay. 

Fees: For any new reservations made for September 4th and beyond: a Hotel Facilities Fee of $30 plus tax per room, per night will be collected by the hotel upon arrival and provides guests with the following amenities:
