The deluxe Mercure Nottingham City Centre Hotel is right in the heart of Nottingham in the historic Lace Market, with its warehouse buildings that have been converted into apartments, bars, restaurants and shops. Dating back to 1822, the hotel has kept many of the original Georgian features, from the sash windows to the ornate staircase. Prints of Nottingham adorn the walls, and there's a floor-to-ceiling monochrome vintage map of the hotel in the bar and restaurant.
Close to the Old Market Square and the Capital FM Arena, the Mercure Nottingham is in an ideal location if you want to explore the city. The vibrant area of Hockley is a 2-minute walk away -- you’ll find plenty of independent cafés, as well as the Nottingham Cave Trail under the streets of the city centre and the Galleries of Justice Museum. Nottingham Castle is less than a mile away.
There's an informal brasserie at the hotel that serves contemporary dishes in a bright and spacious environment. After dinner, relax in the comfortable lounge, which has a long mahogany bar and deep tub chairs. The hotel also serves afternoon tea by the open fire.
Each of the 76 individually decorated rooms offer free Wi-Fi and an iPod docking station. City Pad Rooms are on the small side and more suited to solo travellers or guests staying for a short stopover, while Double Rooms are larger. Opt for a Privilege Room for bathrobes and slippers, a Nespresso machine and complimentary soft drinks.
