- Large bedrooms & bathrooms with underfloor heating, bathtubs & free Wi-Fi
Close to Dublin’s old Smithfield market, an easy walk from the River Liffey and the heart of the city, and with excellent public transport links -- the not-quite-central Maldron Hotel Smithfield turns out to be in exactly the right place.
The 3-star hotel is four minutes' walk from the Smithfield Luas (tram) stop, less than 20 minutes from Temple Bar and Dublin Castle, and 15 minutes from Henry Street, one of the city's foremost shopping streets. The Guinness Storehouse is 15 minutes away, and the Jameson Distillery is right on your doorstep. And the Decorative Arts & History Museum, part of the National Museum of Ireland, is 10 minutes' walk from the hotel.
Dublin’s restaurants and bars are some of its main attractions but if you happen to be back at base, the hotel’s café/bar serves a breakfast buffet in the morning, drinks and snacks during the day and dinner in the evening (closed after breakfast on Sunday).
Rooms are spacious, with tea and coffee-making facilities, televisions and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have a bath and shower, and underfloor heating. Single, Double, Twin and Triple Rooms are available, so accommodating large groups isn’t difficult. Executive Rooms have a balcony and a king-size bed, while Junior Suites have one or two queen-size beds and a separate living area. Fodor's recommends you ask for a room at the front on a higher floor "as they have some stunning views of the neighbourhood and the city beyond".
