Overview
This boutique bolthole is a chic retreat in the centre of Leeds. The hotel's name is a tribute to Duke Ellington who played at the 1958 Leeds Festival, and the hotel's Art Deco interior, which features crushed velvet sofas, is inspired by New Orleans.
The hotel is in the midst of the bars, restaurants and shops of Leeds city centre. Attractions including the Royal Armories, Leeds City Museum, The Henry Moore Institute and Leeds Grand Theatre and Opera House are all a short walk away.
The in-house bar, The Gin Garden, is a chic spot for sampling over 300 varieties of gin, as well as a comprehensive list of cocktails, wines and beers. The basement restaurant offers all-day dining, as well as 24-hour room service. The hotel can also arrange in-room spa treatments in association with Pamper Me.
In the 34 bedrooms comfort is key; king-size beds with Egyptian linens are standard, as are fluffy bathrobes and slippers. All rooms also have Nespresso machines and free Wi-Fi, plus iPods with pre-downloaded music and games consoles can be hired. Luxury suites with disabled access are also available.
