The InterContinental Berlin is a luxury hotel in the centre of the German capital, an area that is "packed with enough attractions and parks to keep you busy for days", according to Rough Guides.
The hotel is located on the border of Mitte – which literally means "centre" -- and Charlottenburg. Mitte is where you'll find must-see Berlin destinations such as the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and the Reichstag. Berlin Zoo and the Tiergarten are just a few minutes away by foot. The affluent district of Charlottenburg -- a 13-minute drive away -- is home to the 1930 Olympic Stadium, Charlottenburg Palace and several excellent museums (try the Berggruen Museum for works by Paul Klee, Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso).
The InterContinental Berlin is a well-appointed 5-star property. Its fitness centre with a large indoor pool is open 24 hours a day, and there is also a 1000-square-metre spa (the pool and gym are free for guests; extra costs apply for spa). Hugos Restaurant holds a Michelin star and offers panoramic views of the city from the 14th floor. The L.A. Café serves more informal fare. There are two bars, the Library Cigar and Rum Lounge, and Marlene, a Marlene Dietrich-themed cocktail bar. The nearest U-Bahn stop, Wittenbergplatz, is 10 minutes' walk.
The hotel has 558 rooms and suites. Superior Rooms have an iPod docking station, a bathroom with a tub, free Wi-Fi, tea- and coffee-making facilities and a separate seating area. Upgrade to a Deluxe Room for more space, to a Suite for views of the Zoo and canals, or to an Executive Room, which includes complimentary buffet breakfast, dinner, drinks, lunch and snacks. Club Rooms offer access to the hotel's Club Lounge for complimentary snacks and drinks and free spa access.
