The Hyatt Regency Birmingham is in the centre of the city's action -- it has a private bridge to the International Convention Centre, which has hosted G8 and NATO summits, and is minutes away from galleries, restaurants and the city's main shopping area.
The hotel is near the canal, and is a 5-minute walk from the Library of Birmingham, which opened in 2013 and is an "architectural triumph", according to Lonely Planet. It's also six minutes from Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, and a 15-minute walk from the Bullring Shopping Centre.
The lobby and reception area is "beautiful", according to Fodor's, and is decorated with Italian marble and huge chandeliers. The Aria Bistro, under a glass-roofed atrium, is where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Aria Bistro also hosts daily afternoon tea (at an additional charge), which National Geographic Traveller says is a "perfect way to celebrate that special occasion". There's also The Gentleman & Scholar Pub, which serves drinks and an à la carte food menu, and has a heated terrace that opens out onto Broad Street.
Standard rooms all have floor-to-ceiling windows with views over either the canal network or the city, and include a large work area and free Wi-Fi. Guests also have access to the hotels Amala Club & Spa, which has a gym and a 16-metre swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a steam room, a sauna and a cold-plunge pool.
