If you’re looking for an action-packed family vacation in Nassau, the Atlantis has been described as “practically a theme park” by Frommer's, and with good reason. The massive resort is essentially a small town, with 18 restaurants (some of the best in the region; there’s a Nobu on site), a water park, casino, spa, shopping plazas, arcade, casino and library.
Set in pretty pastel buildings overlooking the marina, the Harborside Resort is a good bet for families or those looking to escape from the bustle of the Atlantis hotel towers. Past guests have commented that a stay in Atlantis itself will leave you exhausted, but after a few nights at the Harborside, you'll go home relaxed and refreshed.
Accommodations come in the form of modern one-, two- and three-bedroom villas, all with a private balcony, jetted tub, kitchen and washer & dryer.
Many previous guests suggest paying for a meal plan, as otherwise food can be rather expensive. Or, stock up the fridge using the grocery delivery service FoodStore2Go.com to avoid the hassle of going to the grocery store on vacation.
Walk over to the main Atlantis property in about 20 minutes, or hop on one of the shuttle buses. For lazy days, the Harborside has its own freeform pool and toddler pool area.
