Why We Love This Hotel

  • There's a heated indoor pool and hot tub
  • Steps from scenic Point State Park -- the mouth of the Ohio River
  • It's only 10 minutes via light-rail to PNC Park, Heinz Field and the Andy Warhol Museum

Overlooking Point State Park -- where the Allegheny and Monongahela merge to form the Ohio River -- the Wyndham Grand puts guests in the heart of the Golden Triangle neighborhood (that's downtown for non-'Burghers): Fort Duquesne, Gateway Center Park and the theaters along Liberty and Penn Avenue are all walkable. There's also a complimentary shuttle that takes guests to destinations within 3 miles of the hotel (call ahead to check the schedule).

Even the base level guest rooms feel bright and airy thanks to large picture windows with views of either the river or downtown. They also come with posh wood-and-leather furnishings, as well as modern necessities like flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and in-room Wolfgang Puck coffee.

The on-site 3 Rivers Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and specializes in local favorites like pierogies and kielbasa -- for a truly Steel City Start to the day, we recommend the Pittsburgh Benedict. You can also find loads of dining options around nearby Market Square (five minutes walking).

I love the location and that's why we go there. The last two times we were at the hotel the rooms were dirty.

The rooms were dirty. I felt that they really didn't clean them. The bathroom was gross.

great view and location

experience and helpfulness of the staff was disappointing. Thought our room was a bit shabby, wondered if that was because we had a discount room ??? Was told there would be 10 off site parking but at check in it was very chaotic and we were told it cost about the same as their valet so we took that. We wanted to have a luggage cart to load and take down. They wouldn't let us. bellboy assisted only. Why???

Hotel was very nice. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Tiny bathroom, but room was very nice and updated. Great view of the rivers from 12th floor. Breakfast was average and included French toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, assortment of breads and pastries, fruits and juices. Average bar food is a bit pricy. There is no self parking option, so if you are driving and plan to park at the hotel you will have to use valet service which is $35.00 per day+tip which I think is a bit steep. We were very disappointed that during our stay the Starbucks in the hotel lobby was not serving certain hot specialty coffees (apparently they had a broken piece of equipment). Our only choice for our requested mocha beverages was iced. Other than those minor gripes, it was a good experience, great location, and we would stay there again.

Location of the hotel is excellent as it is so close to all the attractions. We walked to everything for 4 days. Only downfall was the cleaning staff and the communication of the wash cloths. Breakfast was very nice and fresh. Rooms are small but it is worth the value

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The valet was ridiculously overloaded and it didn’t appear they had much of a system in place. Cars were everywhere and those that were ready to leave were blocked. Check-in was very fast and efficient. The hotel bar was very nice and the bartender was efficient and friendly. The hotel was in relatively good shape, although a few upgrades could be made. When I entered the room, everything was in order. However, the room did not have a refrigerator, which I was surprised at for a large-scale hotel such as this. There were no wash cloths, the toilet paper had not been replaced, and there was no soap in the room, so I needed to request these when arriving, which again, was not expected. Everything else was very nice. Overall, it was a very nice stay.

Hotel had fab location. Our room was a stinker. Outlet near bed didn’t work so no lamp on that side. Maintenance came a rigged extension cord and brought a lamp. Mold in bathroom. They shouldn’t use our room until it’s repaired.

Breakfast, Chef, and staff were all very nice. Location is downtown, close to everything g and so easy to walk to PNC park for a ballgame.

Rooms need to be updated. There was a hole in the wall. There was a small refrigerator set on the floor right in the traffic flow and a chair pushed up against the curtains that was also in the way of walking. It appeared that they tried to cram too many things into a small room. I will say that the staff was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent.
