The Cape, A Thompson Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- Located on Monuments Beach, a popular surf spot that is good for swimming
- Rooms all have a private terrace with views of the beach and the iconic Cabo Arch
- Guests receive a welcome tequila beverage, and Wi-Fi is free
The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, is the latest addition to the beachfront landscape of Cabo San Lucas, set a few miles east of downtown along mellow Monuments Beach -- a favorite spot among surfers and one of the few in the area where you can swim.
You won’t find the rowdy Cabo nightlife here. The contemporary 4-star hotel is best suited for relaxing and enjoying the views, which are pretty spectacular: Every room comes with a private terrace that looks out onto the coastline and iconic Cabo Arch. The secluded beach is accessible via a private staircase, and there are two pools including an infinity pool with a swim-up bar.
There are also great views from The Roof Top, an open-air garden/lounge where guests can sip a craft cocktail overlooking the Bahia San Lucas. James Beard finalist chef Enrique Olvera (of Mexico City’s Pujol and New York City’s Cosme restaurants) brings traditional Mexican fare to Manta, the highly anticipated seafood restaurant.
Rooms come with one, two or three bedrooms, and some have an outdoor hanging daybed or private plunge pool. Locally handcrafted furniture gives the hotel a mid-century modern feel with walls peppered with originals from local artists. Wi-Fi is complimentary.
