"Making the most of its glorious location, curving languidly around a magnificent semicircular bay that’s lined with golden sand, San Sebastián ranks among the great resort cities of Europe," says Rough Guides. More than 100 years old, the Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra is a historic hotel located right on this super spot of Basque Country coast.
Condé Nast Traveller praises the 4-star hotel for its "fantastic" location on Playa de la Concha. The city centre is a few minutes' walk away from the hotel.
Rooms are traditionally decorated and overlook either the Xabier Zubiri square and the old town of San Sebastián or La Concha Bay and its promenade. City-view rooms are soundproof.
"Although it does have the feel of a place you might find in Eastbourne or Torquay, the old-fashioned, matronly furniture is comfortable, plush and well-maintained, and the sea views at the front are better than anything you’ll find on the English Riviera," says The Guardian.
La Brasserie Mari Galant serves traditional Basque cuisine, using seasonal vegetables, meats and fish. Swing Bar is open until 1am most nights, except Saturdays when you can stay until 2am.
Wi-Fi is free throughout.
