This Georgian property has four AA Silver Stars, which are awarded to properties with the highest levels of hospitality, service and cleanliness within their star rating. It is also one of the top-ranked hotels properties in Norfolk on TripAdvisor, and was once a regular haunt of Agatha Christie's. Her letters and photographs are displayed around the hotel.

The Norfolk Broads are around 20 minutes' drive away, and the coastal towns of Sheringham and Cromer are within 25 minutes by car. You can wander along Cromer's large sandy beach and go crabbing on the pier, or potter around Sheringham's colourful beach huts, numerous tea rooms and independent cafés. Rooms feature large Georgian windows, and some have free-standing Victorian bathtubs and walk-in showers.

Loved it - hope the corona virus will not prevent the hotel from functioning as it deserves.

Staff and management were cheerful and professional, not easy considering how difficult the times we are in. Excellent food and service. Nice to see people with such pride in their business.

We contacted the hotel and explained that we part of the group classed as vulnerable and told to not travel unnecessarily due to covid 19 and asked to change the date. They steadfastly refused and hide behind the terms and conditions. Appalling attitude in these difficult times, blatant self interest.

Had to cancel Beechwood couple of days before due to Corona virus. My husband is over 70 and has a severe lung condition. Spoke to hotel would not defer booking so spoke to Travelzoo who were very helpful and contacted hotel but again hotel would not offer anything. Feel in these exceptional circumstances the hotel could have been more helpful. Was not looking for refund just a deferral.

Spent a restful two days here in a lovely room . Meals were yummy, staff friendly and if it was warmer weather we’d have enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful garden.
