Overview

De Vere Devonport House is in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Maritime Greenwich, an area steeped in naval history, with attractions including the Old Royal Naval College and the National Maritime Museum.

This 4-star property occupies a collection of historic buildings that once formed part of the Royal Naval College. The 99 rooms are decorated in contemporary style and have free Wi-Fi. Guests can dine in the Greenwich Galley Restaurant or relax in The Officers Mess, with its cosy sofas.

The hotel's landscaped grounds contain a small cemetery where Admiral Hardy (to whom Lord Nelson uttered his dying words at the Battle of Trafalgar) is buried. For more greenery, Greenwich Park is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The Daily Telegraph praises the hotel's "efficient and welcoming" service, "attractive grounds", "comfortable" rooms and "excellent location".

Tourist spots including the Old Royal Naval College, the Royal Observatory and Cutty Sark are all within walking distance. Greenwich railway station, Cutty Sark Docklands Light Railway station and Greenwich Pier are all less than 15 minutes' walk from the hotel, making it easy to take public transport into town -- you can be seeing the sights of central London within 20 minutes.

The O2 Arena, the Emirates Air Line -- the UK's first urban cable car -- and ExCel London are all less than 20 minutes' taxi drive away. If you need further inspiration about what to do while staying here, then check out our 101 things to do in London guide.

Good breakfast, but (included) dinner menu disappointing as it did not change for all three nights and choice was limited, with no option to 'upgrade'.

Food choice limited. Food quality average. Would not stay again when a wedding/party was being held. , very noisy with the music going on till 12-20am. One member of staff in the bar, when a function was on, clearly needed more. Had to go out for a drink !
