- It's around 15 minutes' walk from the city centre, where the Christmas markets run until 31 December
Brussels is "undoubtedly one of Europe's premier cities", raves Rough Guides: "most of the key attractions are crowded into a centre that is small enough to be absorbed over a few long days".
The 4-star Hotel BLOOM! is a good base from which to explore Belgium's capital -- it's next to the Botanical Garden and around 15 minutes' walk from the city centre. Here you can visit one of Brussels's top attractions: the Grand Place -- a central square that contains the historic Hôtel de Ville (town hall) and the elegant Gildehuizen (guildhalls).
Facilities include an 8th-floor fitness centre with views of the city, as well as two restaurants. There is a Belgian waffle truck parked in the middle of the OO! restaurant, where you can bake your own waffles at breakfast. SmoodS offers stylish dining in a cosy living-room atmosphere, with seven different themed areas (Passion, Bazaar, Safari, Bling-Bling, Aqua, Spring or Flower Power) set around a central bar.
All rooms at Hotel BLOOM! are large, with big windows and unique artwork by young artists from European art schools. Wi-Fi is free.
