Set in an early-20th-century palace, URSO Hotel & Spa is in the Alonso Martínez neighbourhood of the capital city, which Time Out Madrid says is "where you go for charming shops, restaurants and cafés".
The hotel is across the street from the Barceló food market and a few minutes' walk from the trendy districts of Malasaña and Chueca, as well as the boutiques of Calle Fuencarral. The hotel is also within walking distance of Alonso Martínez and Tribunal Metro stations, making it a convenient base from which to explore the city.
The Daily Telegraph praises the "muted palette of cool green, grey and cream tones and delicate Japanese prints" that "create an air of calm and discreet chicness". Black and white photographs of the city over the years are on display throughout the hotel.
Facing the Palacio Villagonzalo, Deluxe Rooms have big windows, marble bathrooms and free Wi-Fi.
In addition to a fitness area, there is a spa offering facial and massage treatments using Spanish brand Natura Bissé (at a supplement). The spa has three treatment rooms, a hammam steam bath and a hydrotherapy pool.
Breakfast is served until 11am.
