Live like the upper crust of Montreal's past with a stay at the Chateau Versailles, which occupies four mid-century townhouses that once housed the city's elite.

Each guest room at this hotel is slightly different, but all exude the historical charm that the property is known for, complete with crown mouldings. Guests should note that the chateau has four floors — all stairs and no elevators.

For all guests, basic Wi-Fi and breakfast are free daily. Breakfast is served in the quiet, calming atmosphere of Le Boudoir. In the guest rooms, the provided bath products are by Crabtree and Evelyn.

This hotel sits on Sherbrooke Street and is a short distance from the Museum of Fine Arts. McGill University and Mount Royal Park are nearby as well.

The Chateau Versailles is a charming historic small hotel with warm friendly helpful staff. The breakfast was perfect with fresh fruit salad, croissants, bagels etc. Our room was spacious with everything we required.

All staff was professional, friendly and accomadating. Tickets to the Museum of Fine Arts was an excellent bonus - the Egyptian exhibit is a must see. Location walkable to many highlights and not necessary to use a car. Rooms kept tidy and clean.

Really a lovely place with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Breakfast was good...continental but with good selection. Our bed was very comfortable and the bedding was luxurious.

While the place was lovely, the location wasn’t great for a winter getaway. I think it would be much better suited to summer or fall as St. Catherine Street is just a few blocks away. We did go to the Museum of Fine Arts though...only a five minute walk from the hotel. The museum is well worth visiting...spacious, modern and full of interesting art from all over the world.

We appreciated being given a larger room with a sitting area and a king bed after we expressed concern with the original room.
Other Comments
we appreciated being moved to a larger room, and being able to stay in the same room over 2 separate reservations. We also appreciated the staff providing hot water for late night cups of tea. CV is our first choice hotel when we are in Montreal.

The room was a little hot. We tried to lower the heat and it did work but not enough. We enjoyed our stay and like the hotel. Nice perk to have tickets for the Mummies exhibition.

We had a wonderful time at the Chateau Versailles. The room was outstanding and very located in terms of proximity to a venue for a wedding that we attended. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating and we very much enjoyed the overall atmosphere of this boutique hotel.

We had a room on the main floor and it was very quiet. It also was a suite! The complimentary tickets to the mummy exhibition at the Musee des beaux arts was a lovely bonus. Breakfast was great with a lot of variety.

The location of the hotel and the complimentary ticket to the Egyptian exhibition at the MMFA made for a nice experience. The Hotel is interesting and was clean and well appointed. The reference to "afternoon tea" was deceiving to me. Hot water, tea bags and some cookies were available at 5PM. My check in was interesting in that I arrived at 2:50 PM and check in time is 3:00 PM..the person on the desk advised that I must wait until 3PM to check in. I was designated to sit and wait for the magic 3PM at which time her shift was over and I was able to check in with the new shift person. Over the 3 days I was at this hotel, it appeared that the front desk and dining room staff could use some hospitality training or perhaps there are issues in the hotel as they all seemed unhappy and uninterested in guests.
