"We loved it! What a treat! The room was good; excellent night sleep. Breakfast was exceptional and plentiful (the only place I've ever stayed which has Rice Milk as a dairy alternative...Thank you) The cocktails were also really lovely. We were able to check in early which was extremely helpful given that we had timed tickets for the Tutankhamun exhibition, dinner booked for 5.30 and then the theatre. We will keep checking for another offer please?!"

Overview

Royal Garden Hotel is right beside Kensington Gardens, just a short walk from the museums on Exhibition Road and 20 minutes' walk from Harrods. High Street Kensington Underground station is five minutes' walk away, allowing you to reach the West End in about 20 minutes.

You can take afternoon tea in the Park Terrace Restaurant, which holds two AA Rosettes. We've also negotiated a 3-course dinner for two with champagne, for £69.

The real shining star is the 3-AA-Rosette Min Jiang restaurant on the 10th floor, where those in the know dig into the signature wood-fired Beijing duck. Order in advance as there is a 45-minute wait.

After a day's sightseeing or shopping, you can slip into the darkly handsome Bertie's Bar (open Monday-Saturday) for late-afternoon coffees or evening cocktails. There is also a gym with fitness equipment and a health club.

The bedrooms have large picture windows, many with views of Kensington Gardens and cosy window seats. Triple glazing ensures a quiet night's sleep in spite of the bustling street below.

I enjoyed my over night stay, nice cosy room and the breakfast was nice, a good selection of choices..however I was disappointed with the service from the resturant staff in the resturant! The bread was cold, the male staff were miserable and inattentive!! I have been 3 times before and was always served by a lovely gentleman ( who was not there on this occasion) . Please get the waiters to smile.

Overall we rated our stay at The Royal Garden Hotel as "Excellent" for all the usual reasons, location, staff friendliness, quality of service, standard of hotel, quality of breakfast & Dinner. Although two minor points, room a bit tight for space and dinner a bit over salty but an excellent stay.

The greeting at the hotel was excellent and our room 716 just right. Unfortunately when we returned to the room mid evening the strong winds outside were extremely noisy and there was a draft . We called reception and a member of staff attended very quickly and said the seal on the window had gone and we were asked to move. Another room was found quickly 612 and we moved over . This iwas on the back of the hotel much quieter and with a nicer view.but a bit small.
Other Comments
We were very impressed with the speed of staff in investigating our problem and moving us . Room 612 did seem small compared to 716 which was a queen room but reception staff assured me that it too was a queen ? Staff in the breakfast room twice got our order wrong , minor things but it let the breakfast down a bit.
