The Ryebeck is a former Edwardian gentlemen's residence with sweeping views of Lake Windermere.

It is set in five acres of landscaped grounds, 25 minutes' walk from the village of Bowness-on-Windermere, which has shops, restaurants, tea rooms and boat trips on the lake.

The deluxe country house hotel is within a 30-minute drive of Ambleside, Wordsworth's Dove Cottage in Grasmere, Beatrix Potter's Hill Top house and Holehird Gardens, home of the Lakeland Horticultural Society. The surrounding Lake District countryside is ideal for hiking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits.

The 2-AA-Rosette Ryebeck Brasserie showcases locally sourced produce, and its head chef, Nick Edgar, was voted Cumbria Life Chef of the Year 2017 and has also previously been awarded a Michelin-star. Staff very helpful , offered , and took , room upgrade on arrival which was excellent and extremely good value for money. Food excellent , really nice fine dining . I would go again. No complaints at all
Other Comments
It would probably be nice if staff were to wear uniform rather than casual wear although perhaps that is what the owners of the hotel wish their staff to wear.

Beautiful hotel, very friendly and professional staff, excellent service and food. We loved the location-just out of the bustle of town with beautiful views of the Lake in the distance. Can't wait to return!

Reception and dining room management and team exceptional, lovely welcome, lovely food. Constant piping hot water in our room and very clean.
Other Comments
The food was of the highest standard, wholesome and plenty of it, not poncy designer type food. The reception and restaurant management and staff were also exceptional. I didn’t catch the restaurant manager’s name (might have been Julien, could be quite wrong, originally trained as a lawyer in his home country) was born for the job. Such dedication and attention to detail, very interested in his guest’s comfort and experience. We were late down for breakfast one morning but we were not made to feel rushed in any way which was lovely because in such a busy restaurant lunch preparations very quickly follow on from breakfast. Commendation in order.
