Why We Love This Hotel

  • This all-suite hotel is in the West End, near Stanley Park
  • It's a short walk from English Bay Beach, Robson Street shops & Denman Street restaurants
  • All guests get a free pass to a local gym & Aquatic Centre
  • Katharine Hepburn stayed in the hotel's penthouse suite

Tucked away on the edge of Stanley Park, Rosellen Suites at Stanley Park is a cosy all-suite property. The hotel's penthouse suite is named after Katharine Hepburn, who was a frequent visitor.

Stanley Park, 1000 acres of gardens, forest and coastline, begins at the end of the hotel's road, and English Bay Beach, which is "one of Canada's best urban beaches" (Lonely Planet), is a 5-minute walk from the hotel in the opposite direction. Ferries depart every five minutes (7am-10:30pm) from the dock outside the Vancouver Aquatic Centre to Granville Island, a "friendly, easygoing and popular" place (Rough Guides). The dock is 30 minutes' walk from the hotel (or five minutes by car), and the ferry journey takes around three minutes.

The property is on a quiet tree-lined street in a residential part of the West End, 10 minutes' walk from the restaurants on Denman Street. The hotel provides free passes to a local gym and the Vancouver Aquatic Centre (five minutes' drive away).

The traditionally styled suites have a fully stocked kitchen, one or two bedrooms, and a separate living and dining area. Several suites have a wood-burning fire for cosy nights in, and those on the ground floor have air conditioning. All guests get free Wi-Fi, movies and popcorn.

Very spacious - basically a 1 bedroom apartment. Quiet location and building. Much more than I needed!

Kent represented The Rosellen Suites at check in. He was a fantastic host, answered all of our questions and we look forward to staying there again soon. The suites are clean and roomy. The location to Stanley Park is also perfect.

We arrived at 7:30 PM and the front closes at 5:30 so checking in was kind of confusing

The carpets in the stairs are really worn and old and dirty. This is a very old building but The rooms are very large, clean and very well stocked

The only drawback is the front desk is not always manned. We waited just about 10 mins as sign said be right back. Then we called the phone number and it connected to switch board..they tried manager but he didn’t pick up. Then my kids had to go to the washroom as this is a condo building no obvious washrooms. So called number back-they couldn’t help. Finally after about 20 minutes total manager showed up and was very short with us as we had stuff in waiting area.(we had spread out a bit to have a snack while waiting ) He directed us to washroom downstairs by laundry room but my husband said he was rude towards him. Luckily the room size and location and price can help us overlook this run in.
