The Hotel Golden Key is an intimate boutique hotel less than 10 minutes' walk from Prague Castle. The 13th-century building was once a locksmith's workshop (note the glittering key above the door), but inside, it has been extensively renovated.
The property is on picturesque Nerudova Street, right in the heart of the Castle District. This winding cobbled road is lined with historic buildings and forms part of the original coronation route of Czech monarchs. From here, it is a 5-minute walk uphill to the grand square in front of the castle, or 15 minutes' stroll through Mala Strana, down to Charles Bridge and across the river to the Old Town.
Breakfast is provided every morning and includes traditional local produce to set you up for a day of exploring. After seeing the sights, guests can relax in The Club lounge. The hotel also has its own gym and sauna on site, and in-room massages can be arranged, supplements apply.
Some of the rooms have antique furniture and restored 16th-century wooden ceilings, there are also views of Prague Castle or the hilltop Petrin Lookout Tower in the distance. Wi-Fi is free.
