The Ring Vienna's Casual Luxury Hotel is an elegant boutique hotel with an exclusive air and a central location that can’t be beaten. The State Opera House is just along the street and the city's longest shopping area, Mariahilfer Strasse, is 10 minutes away on foot. It's been a firm favourite with the rich and famous visiting Vienna -- past celebrity guests include Beyoncé, Kevin Spacey and Sting.
The historical building is elegant and the décor mixes original features -- like the listed elevator and historic façade -- with a mirrored check-in desk and art deco-inspired furniture. The bright, wood-panelled "at eight" restaurant specialises in local cuisine and has its own Schanigarten (pavement café) for al fresco dining from March-October. For after-dinner drinks there’s the Drings bar, where there’s a wide range of vodka cocktails to try. Up on the 7th floor there is an impressive spa and gym and it’s worth popping into the steam bath and sauna, both of which have views over St Charles church.
Rooms all have high ceilings and are a generous size, with thick carpets and plush duvets. While standard rooms face the quiet inner courtyard, pricier rooms and the loft-style suites have excellent Ringstrasse views. Those travelling for business may like to consider the signature suite for its gallery-like interiors with stucco walls, parquet floors and impressive board room facilities
