Rooms & Rates
The Pheasant Inn is located on a former farm in the Peckforton Hills and according to Alastair Sawday's Special Places to Stay, it is "gloriously positioned" and this 300-year-old building has been "stylishly revamped".
From The Pheasant Inn guests can take in views across the Cheshire Plain -- on a clear day you can see as far as Liverpool.
Condé Nast Traveller says this is "a handy base for walkers" -- as it is on the Sandstone Trail -- a long- pathway that stretches across Cheshire and north Shropshire. Delamere Forest -- Cheshire's largest area of woodland, which has a number or walking routes and cycle paths -- is also a 30-minute drive away. The Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet shopping village, the Blue Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo are also within a 25-minute drive.
According to The AA, the Rosette-awarded restaurant serves "creative dishes" that are served in either "the stylish restaurant or in the traditional, beamed bar". There are open fires within the restaurant and during the summer guests can dine al fresco on the terrace.
The menu is split into three sections -- a light-bites section, a home comforts section and a main course section -- and the hotel aims to buy the majority its produce directly from local farms and trawlers.
There are 12 rooms that are located either in the main building or the ivy-clad stable wing. Wi-Fi is free.
