Why We Love This Hotel

  • This 29-room country house hotel "brings together some of Cornwall’s most appealing qualities—minus the crowds" (The Daily Telegraph).
  • A review from the Daily Mail states that "the remarkable garden and beach alone" are worth the trip. Meander down the winding footpaths of the hotel's valley gardens, which feature giant plant life from Cornwall and species from around the world, to arrive at Bream Cove. From here, you will have direct access to the South West Coast Path and Rosemullion Headland.
  • The hotel's restaurant has floor-to-ceiling windows and has a locavore approach to dining: its proximity to the sea means fresh fish and seafood are a highlight on its menu, together with locally farmed meats and seasonal game. The head chef and kitchen team even forage for ingredients on the hotel grounds.
  • Falmouth—home to Pendennis Castle and National Maritime Museum Cornwall—is about 15 minutes' drive away.
  • The Helford is one of Cornwall's most picturesque estuaries and less than 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. The ferry crossing from Helford Passage is one of the oldest in the UK and passenger boats resume service from April.

Fabulous location, hotel in beautiful gardens with a beach at the bottom of the gardens. Nearby Maenporth beach a tranquil spot we watched seals just off shore. Plenty of parking. Lots of areas to sit and relax. Excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. Could not fault the evening meal, stunning flavours and excellent value for quality food.

Really impressed , lovely staff and beautiful location. The garden was beautiful. Only a shame that the coffee hut was closed as would have been great after our chilly swim. Evening meal was delicious though small portion s - breakfast was amazing though .

Perfect apart from the weather. The staff were all wonderful - from the cleaners, restaurant staff to the manager. Somehow they picked up that it was my wife's birthday and we had a prime table for dinner complete with a birthday card.. The food was truly excellent too. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights (Sunday & Monday) in late March, first concern was the availability of car parking. A nice friendly lady checked us in and escorted to our room (25) wigh balcony garden view. Room was well presented and warm with a clean ensuite with large walk in shower, all functioning well. 2 good nights sleep as it was very peaceful. Evening meals were very nice in a pleasant dining room with polite and friendly staff. Breakfast was served in the same room and in the daylight there were views out over the gardens down to the sea. Any criticism would be the slow service from the bar in late afternoon.
