Overview

Combining old-world charm with modern convenience, Rodd Charlottetown was built in 1931. The interior conveys an attention to historic details -- like the marble floors and vaulted ceiling in the lobby. Park your car for free in the lot and then head to the roof where views of Charlottetown Harbour are unparallelled. Pause here before heading to Chamber’s Restaurant for a meal, where kids 10 and under can eat free from May to October. Start the day with French toast and end with entrees like chicken Cordon Blue and Atlantic salmon Wellington.

Meet in the lounge for a drink before heading out to explore the charm of Prince Edward Island's historic capital.

During warmer months, attend a crab bake or spend time at the beach. From late June through August, the hotel is home to Feast Dinner Theatre, touted as “fun, fluffy musicals” by Fodor’s. The indoor pool is an inviting escape year-round.

As night approaches, relax in a guest room where a mini-fridge allows you to keep snacks and drinks on hand, while complimentary Wi-Fi access is ideal for staying in touch with friends and colleagues.

Their restaurant wasn't open for dinner, but we found the Pilot House nearby and would highly recommend it also.

The hotel was Nice and centrally located - Walking distance to all the sites and restaurants downtown. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. But it was a terribly designed bathroom. I couldn’t even sit on the toilet, it was so close to the wall, the sink was small, the storage unit above the sink was too large, the bath tub floor was slanted so it felt very uncomfortable while showering. The room was quite small and really no place to open luggage. And it was quite warm in the room, and I couldn’t seem to set the temperature for cooler. So, all in all, I don’t think I would stay there again.

Staff were kind and friendly at the front desk and restaurant.

Air conditioning fan was too loud. We had to shut it off in order to sleep. The hotel employee did try and move us to another room. The other two rooms she showed us were the same. She gave us free breakfast vouchers, which was very kind. Also, the shower had no water pressure. It was not pleasant. The entire hotel needs a reno and face lift.

Very nice hotel in the middle of Downtown Charlottetown. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The breakfast at the hotel was really good and we enjoyed the pool and sauna to wind down before bed.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We asked to change rooms and there was no fuss. Staff even brought in a table so we could play cards.

Part of the package included a welcoming gift, a box of Anne of Green Gables chocolates, neither did we receive. We did get the $20 voucher for the restaurant. Package also included a queen bed we were given a room #100 which had a double bed in it and the tv was on a stand lower than the bed making it difficult to watch . The room was very small and so was the bathroom the toilet was right next to a wall where you had to sit at an angle to use it and the sink was practically cover with a cabinet placed directly over the top of the sink.
