The deal was brilliant and great value for money. The pub is beautiful on the river, saw Kingfishers and loads of wildlife! The staff were attentive and friendly and the room was comfortable and relaxing. The location is a short drive from Bedford town centre and you can walk around Priory Country Park lake and down the riverside which is worth doing. I’d highly recommend!

I’d like to make a special mention to Ben Clarke who was working in the afternoon/evenings and waited on us. He was professional, friendly and really took care of us. He is truely an asset to the team and we wish him all the best in his career. Thanks Ben ☺️

Everything was fantastic! All staff friendly and service was great in the restaurant, everything ran smoothly, food was excellent quality, very happy

Only thing that wasn't ideal was our room backed onto an area where staff members were smoking and so could hear all conversations, and also where deliveries were being made so woke us up early as had the windows open

Nice spot by the river. Spacious hotel and room. Food fine but more pub food than fine dining.

Lovely evening/night away Very attentive staff

Lots of cobwebs and stains on the carpet spoiled the otherwise lovely hotel

The breakfast was great, also a lovely building!
Other Comments
The afternoon tea was less than average - sandwiches not neat, strange fillings and a little stale... Also the decor in the restaurant was odd! The room was advertised as 'executive' but on arrival was quite standard and did not look similar to the picture.

We found the staff and food to be very good, the room and bathroom were very clean just a bit dated. The hotel is out of town but it was £5.40 for a taxi into Bedford. An enjoyable stay on the whole

Purchased as a birthday treat for my husband, we had an overnight stay here after a visit to Bletchley Park. Emma the receptionist was lovely. Very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. We had booked a table in the restaurant for dinner and found that there was a very good choice of dishes. Our meals were delicious and the service was very good, all the staff were very nice and pleasant. Breakfast was self service and there was a great choice from cereals and fruit to a Full English! All good. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Think the menu could be a little bit more varied when we first went to the Barnes better menu. Drinks are expensive but really like going to the Barnes.
