The property has a young, friendly vibe, and guests are encouraged to socialize, with complimentary wine and truffle-flavored popcorn treats offered by the fireside in the lobby (5 to 6pm nightly).
The hotel is close to many top Philadelphia restaaurants, such as local favorite Friday Saturday Sunday, famous for its cognac-laced mushroom soup. If you’d rather stay in to dine, the on-site restaurant is recognized by Zagat for its “knockout” interiors and innovative American cuisine. Philadelphia’s sights aren't far away either. Borrow one of the hotel’s free bikes and spin over to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall (11 blocks east), or take a 15-minute stroll to the Barnes Foundation, a rich collection of art.
Rooms are chic with art deco influences and playful touches like leather suitcase straps on the headboards and animal-print bathrobes. Standard rooms are a bit small, though cleverly designed. Bathrooms have marble counters, and those in Spa rooms have huge tubs and a supply of bath salts. There’s a 24-hour gym on-site and rooms come equipped with yoga mats. Business travelers haven’t been forgotten either -- overnight shoe shining and newspapers are complimentary. As is standard with Kimpton hotels, pets are welcome.
