Why We Love This Hotel

  • The original Moor Hall dates back to the 1500s. It was once Bishop Vesey's home, who frequently entertained Henry VIII here. It has been a family-owned hotel for over 60 years.
  • Travelzoo Members get complimentary access for an hour to the hotel's leisure facilities. These include an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and steam room, and a gym. Group fitness classes are available for a fee.
  • Wander the hotel's woodland walk that takes you through a rose path and a sunken garden. The sunken garden once served as a bear pit, with mature trees and wildlife.
  • Enjoy an evening meal at The Oak Room Brasserie, serving seasonal and locally sourced dishes. Relax with a drink or grab a bite to eat at Bar 1905—open from breakfast.
  • New Hall Valley Country Park, a nature conservation site, is a 15-minute drive away. Sutton Park's 2400 acres of woodland, heathland, and wetland can be reached in the same time.

Our room was ok but on top floor & no air-con on a beautiful sunny day made it stifling hot. Luckily I took a fan & there was one in the room.

We had a lovely overnight stay. The room was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities provided. The grounds were beautiful and the evening meal and breakfast was delicious. Over all very good value for money.

There was broken glass on my bedside table which pricked my finger as I was vacating my room to go home, I took pictures and informed staff, and left my details, I haven't heard anything back yet.

Great Experience and value for money. Rooms were spotless and smelt clean. Staff were friendly and food was amazing. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve tried. Great facilities and the spa was fantastic. One of the quietest nights sleep I’ve had in an hotel.
Other Comments
Bathroom could do with updating but apart from that it was spotless.

We arrived later than we hoped because the M6 was a mess. However, the staff were very helpful and obliging. We enjoyed our SPA session immensely (especially after such a horrible journey on the M6), the room was fine (a little tired but we didn't pay a lot for the whole experience), our evening meal was just lovely as was breakfast.
