Sedgebrook Hall sits in 13 acres of landscaped gardens, 15 minutes' drive from Northampton town centre.

It is a particularly good base for history buffs and walkers, as it's within 20 minutes' drive of a number of stately homes and country parks. The Althorp Estate -- the Spencer family's home and Princess Diana's final resting place -- former monastery Delapré Abbey and 18th-century Palladian-style country house Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens are all close by. Brixworth Country Park, Pitsford Reservoir, Abington Park and Sywell Country Park are also on the hotel's doorstep.

The hotel is in Chapel Brampton, a village known for its distinctive sandstone cottages -- the hotel is also made out of this local stone and dates back to 1861.

There's an on-site restaurant and the "chef recommends" list usually includes a daily fish special, a seasonal classic dish and a vegetarian option. The hotel also has an indoor pool, a sauna, a gym, a tennis court and a par-3 pitch-and-putt course. Wi-Fi is free throughout.

Problems with the television, picture rolling on first night and wavy lines the second night, thought this wasn't acceptable Also on the Friday night, 2 of the wedding guests, knocked on our door, then they set the fire alarm off, this was at 4.30 a.m. then at 5.30 just having got back to sleep the fire alarm went off again, a few of us went downstairs,. we didn't feel that confident that the staff were sure what to do when the firm alarm went off!!!!!

Could do with something doing with bedroom doors as they tend to slam if you forget ro hold onto it. Woken a few times by others staying returning / leaving rooms.

This is a clean and well run hotel with good facilities.

Our main criticism is that it is noticeable that guests in wedding parties come first (most evident at breakfast). This leads us to assume they are focusing on a position as a wedding venue. The price of indian massages and pedicures etc are reasonable but we would advise pre-booking for these as we couldn't get an appointment during our stay.

The hotel, room, food and people were all good.
Other Comments
There were corporate parties in so there was a lot of business talk, a plethora of lap tops, tablets and I phones so it felt like we were in an office! There was a snooker and pool table in the only lounge so the play did not allow you a relaxing drink or read.
