The 5-star Pestana Royal is perched on a clifftop above Praia da Formosa beach. It is just a short stroll away via steps across the oceanfront promenade.
Take in views over the Atlantic from your lounger at the large outdoor pool. It has a swim-up bar. Dip your toes in the heated indoor pool, or visit the tranquil spa. You can work out in the gym, play tennis, or try mini golf.
The hotel features four restaurants and two bars. Your all-inclusive package covers meals at the São Lourenço Garden Terrace restaurant. You can reserve a table twice per stay at other restaurants for no extra charge. These include Madeiran, Asian, or Italian à la carte venues.
Your Superior Deluxe room has a furnished private balcony. It measures approximately 38 square metres. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
The classy town centre is a 10-minute drive from the main entrance. Stroll through lush public parks, sip a coffee al fresco, or taste Madeiran wines. Wander enchanting streets lined with shops and historic buildings—such as the 16th-century Sé Cathedral. Take a cable car to the hillside neighbourhood of Monte, and the Botanical Gardens. Madeira was voted the World's Leading Island Destination at the 2024 World Travel Awards. The Independent says it's "perfect" for those "who wish to try their hand at a range of outdoor activities".
