Hotel details
Located on the western edge of the island, Hotel Procida Solcalante is so named for the hotel's excellent position—solcalante translates to setting sun. Admire stunning sunsets from the rooftop pool and garden, which has views over Pozzo Vecchio beach.

Order aperitifs and snacks to your lounge chair by the pool, or pick something from the wine menu—the hotel specialises in Campania wines (supplements apply). Dine al fresco on the panoramic terrace at the Acqua Pazza restaurant, which showcases Procidan cuisine with locally sourced seasonal produce.

There are just 12 rooms at the hotel, each decorated with a Mediterranean palette of blue and yellow to represent the sun and the sea. You can book treatments at the spa, which has a hydromassage bath and a Finnish sauna (extra fees apply).

About Procida
Procida is the smallest inhabited island in the Bay of Naples and is "Italy's lesser-known island paradise" (House & Garden). This sleepy haven was selected as the Italian Capital of Culture for 2022. It also featured in the 1999 film "The Talented Mr Ripley". As the island is so small, you can walk from one side to the other within 30 minutes, but we recommend taking the bus or booking a taxi for longer journeys as the roads can be steep.

Procida's most famous sight is the Corricella Marina. This higgledy-piggledy harbour is bursting with colourful houses and you'll find many restaurants just steps from the water. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time if you'd like to dine here. The marina is 30 minutes' walk from the hotel, or less than 10 minutes by taxi.

After a meal by the marina, take a 15-minute wander down to Chiaia beach to soak up the sun—even in early autumn temperatures can reach up to 19°C. In the evening, visit Pozzo Vecchio beach (10 minutes' walk from the hotel) to watch the sunset.

About the tours
Tuck into authentic Italian cuisine with the included food tours:

  • Pizza in Naples... after a 30-minute ferry ride, spend time exploring this atmospheric city, famous for being the birthplace of pizza. Sink your teeth into real Neapolitan pizza, then return to Procida.
  • Lingua di bue... this traditional Procidan dessert is made from puff pastry filled with lemon cream, which is flavoured with the island's lemons. Sample this delectable treat with a cappuccino.
  • Limoncello and more... lemons from Procida are some of the biggest and sweetest you'll find. Head off on a lemon-themed tasting experience, with limoncello, a lemon cocktail, and various Italian appetizers to try.
