Moscow is a "dazzling mix of medieval churches, Soviet skyscrapers, art galleries, sushi bars, nightclubs and bath-houses", according Condé Nast Traveler. You will be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel, where you'll spend the next three nights.
You can explore the Russian capital independently, with 20 Metro tickets and a 3-day city pass at hand. The latter gives you access to museums, and bus and walking tours, and also provides discounts at select restaurants and cafés.
You'll hop on a high-speed train on day four (hotel-train station transfer is included), and arrive in St Petersburg four hours later and transfer to your hotel for the next three nights. The country's second-largest city is brimming with museums, galleries and theatres, and has a pretty network of canals and grand palaces. Your included Metro tickets will help you get around easily.
St Petersburg is home to one of the world's largest museums: the State Hermitage Museum, which was founded by Catherine the Great in 1764 and has a collection of over three million items.
You'll stay in 4-star hotels in both cities, within walking distance to Metro stations, and your trip includes daily breakfast as well.
