The holiday starts with a 3-night stay in Singapore, where you'll find "soaring skylines, colonial heritage, [and] fabulous food" (Rough Guides). You'll stay at the 4-star Park Hotel Clarke Quay -- the hotel is in Clarke Quay, which is known for its nightlife, and is 15 minutes' drive from the 158-year-old tropical Singapore Botanic Garden.
There's an outdoor swimming pool and a gym, plus a shuttle-bus service to Orchard Road -- Singapore's main shopping street -- and other attractions. Deluxe Rooms are on higher floors than Superior Rooms and have views of Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay.
Then you'll fly to Kota Kinabalu, in the Malaysian state of Sabah, and spend a week at the luxurious Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa. It is near the northern tip of Borneo, the largest island in the Malay Archipelago. The resort is on a long white-sand beach backed by rainforest, and is surrounded by a 64-acre nature reserve where you'll find deer, monkeys, flying foxes and slow lorises, plus lots of flora and fauna native to Sabah.
There's a lagoon-style pool, a spa, a golf course (supplements apply), six restaurants serving Japanese, Indian and Malaysian cuisine, and two bars. The hotel offers free kayaking, boogie boarding and catamaran equipment hire, as well as lessons in paddle boarding, sailing, windsurfing, pilates, circuits and tai chi. The Deluxe Sea View Room is split-level, and has views of the South China Sea and a balcony.
Your holiday ends in Dubai. You'll spend three nights at the Rove City Centre Hotel, which has an outdoor pool, a restaurant and a 24-hour fitness centre. Jumeirah Beach, Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa are all less than 15 minutes' drive away.
