The holiday will begin with an overnight stay in the capital, San José

You'll then travel to Tortuguero, where you'll go on a walk through the tropical rainforest and nature reserve, taking in all the wildlife, including tropical birds and four species of monkey.

The next day, you'll see even more wildlife -- including manatees, jaguars, otters, sloth monkeys, crocodiles, basilisk lizards and hundreds of species of bird -- as you sail through the canals of Tortuguero. June is the nesting season for Tortuguero's famous leatherback turtle.

You'll then head to the north of the country, to the La Fortuna area of San Carlos, where you'll go on a hike and see the active Arenal Volcano. This will be followed by a dip in the hot springs to unwind.

You'll then drive to the misty mountain village of Monteverde. While there, you'll visit Selvatura Adventure Park, which is set in 1200 acres of protected cloud forest. You can explore the hanging suspension bridges or go on an optional canopy tour of the treetops (supplements apply).

The last leg of the journey will be in Tamarindo, where you'll have four free days to relax in a tropical oasis before making your way back to San José for your flight home.
