After being picked up at the airport, you'll transfer to the capital city, Amman, for a stay at the MENA Tyche Hotel Amman. The hotel, which is in a quiet neighbourhood, will be your base for three nights and has a restaurant and a lobby bar.
On the second day of the tour, you'll drive north to the Jordan Valley to see the ruins of the ancient city of Pella, followed by the town of Umm Qais, before returning to Amman for the evening.
On day three, the tour visits Jerash, Jordan's largest and most interesting Roman site, with ceremonial gates, colonnaded avenues and temples. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Dead Sea, a spectacular site that is 400m below sea level and where, due to the high salt levels, you can float on the water's surface.
On the fourth day of the tour, you'll leave Amman and head south along the 2000-year-old King's Highway towards Petra with stops along the way including Mount Nebo, which offers stunning views of the Holy Land. You'll stay for two nights at the La Maison Hotel Petra.
Day five entails a full-day visit to Petra, a "lost desert city of childhood imagination" (Wanderlust) complete with a treasury, a theatre, a monastery and royal tombs, all carved directly into red sandstone.
The following day, you'll have a chance to admire Little Petra's rock-cut buildings, and take a 4x4 ride through Wadi Rum, known as the "Valley of the Moon" for its desert landscape and described as "vast, echoing and godlike" by TE Lawrence. In the evening, you'll return to Amman.
The final day and night are free time during which time you can explore Amman before flying home.
