Itinerary
You'll begin with an overnight stay in Reykjavík, the world's most northerly capital, where you'll find a heady mix of colourful architecture and whimsical street art, next-level design, and trendy bars.

The next day, you'll continue to Borgarnes. This ancient town's heritage harks back to the Vikings, and you'll delve into this history with a guided tour. After this, you'll take a trip to Deildartunguhver, Iceland's largest hot spring, before continuing to two scenic waterfalls—Hraunfossar and Barnafossar. You'll then stay overnight at Hotel Borgarnes.

On day three, you'll take a full-day excursion to Iceland's west coast to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, home to "sparkling fjords, dramatic volcanic peaks, sheer sea cliffs, sweeping golden beaches, and crunchy lava flows" (Lonely Planet). Marvel at the largest volcanic crater in the area, Eldborg, then travel through the quaint fishing towns of Grundarfjörður, Ólafsvík, Rif, and Hellissandur to a black-sand beach.

You'll take a drive around the foot of Snæfellsjökull, a glaciated volcano that serves as the setting for Jules Verne's famous novel "The Journey to the Centre of the Earth". Spot seabirds at the Þúfubjarg cliff, and look out for seals as you travel to a local farm. You'll then spend two nights at a hotel in Selfoss

Embark on a full-day excursion of Iceland's South Shore, beginning with the 60-metre Seljalandsfoss waterfall. You'll then travel past the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers on your way to visit the Sólheimajökull glacier, where you can take part in guided walks.

Day five will see you exploring the Golden Circle, where you can admire some of Iceland's most famous sights. You'll visit numerous hot springs, the Great Geysir, and Strokkur, an active geyser that erupts every few minutes. You'll then travel to the roaring Gullfoss waterfall, which has a 32-metre drop. You'll return to Reykjavík for a further 2-night stay this evening, and will have the next day free to explore at leisure.
