The tour starts in Amman, the capital of Jordan. During your stay, you'll take a tour of the city, including visits to the citadel and the Roman Theatre, as well as historic Jerash and 12th-century Ajloun Castle.
Next, you'll take the scenic drive along the King's Highway to Petra. En route, you'll call at Madaba, home to an ancient and intricate mosaic of the Holy Land; Mount Nebo, said to be where Moses first saw the Promised Land; and Shobak Castle, a Crusader castle dating from the 1100s. You'll visit a mosaic school to learn the basics of this intricate craft.
The next day, you'll take a guided tour of Petra -- an ancient city in the desert with buildings carved out of the sandstone. The Independent says this city is "one of the world's most compelling historical sites, up there with the Taj Mahal and the Pyramids for romance and visual drama". In the evening, you'll try your hand at cooking local dishes with the help of a chef before experiencing Petra at night. You'll walk through the Siq to the Khazneh following a candle-lit path.
You'll then head to the Ammarin Camp, a Bedouin village where you'll meet locals and learn about their semi-nomadic lifestyle and traditions over lunch and herbal tea. Next is Wadi Rum, known as the "Valley of the Moon" for its desert landscape. You'll spend a night in Wadi Rum in a Bedouin-style tent.
After this, you'll stay by the shores of the Dead Sea, where you can float in its hypersaline waters. Following another day at your leisure here, you'll transfer back to Amman where you'll have a farewell dinner on your final night before flying back to the UK.
