The tour begins in Quito, where a local guide will show you round the city -- the oldest in South America. You'll then set off for Baños, stopping at the Cotopaxi National Park en route. Here, you can see the active Cotopaxi volcano and the vibrant green Quilotoa lake. You'll then stop in the small artisan town of Tigua and visit an artist's workshop before continuing onto Baños.
You'll visit the Baños waterfalls on board a traditional Chiva bus, followed by a free afternoon to explore the area at your own pace. After this you'll head to Riobamba, stopping on the way at Chimborazo, the highest volcano in Ecuador standing at 6263 metres.
The next day you'll visit the quaint towns of Guamote and Alausi, before heading to the fascinating ruins of Ingapirca, the largest and best-preserved Inca ruins in Ecuador. You'll then continue to Cuenca, thought to be the most beautiful city in Ecuador, and spend the rest of the day discovering the riverfront and old colonial plazas at your own pace.
You'll then journey to Guayaquil, the largest city in Ecuador. On the way, you'll stop at the impressive Cajas National Park, known for its glistening lakes and home to the Andean condor. You'll also visit a local cocoa community to learn how they make chocolate (and taste some).
After this, you'll fly to the Galápagos Islands, and be transferred to the island of Santa Cruz, home to the famous Galápagos giant tortoises. You'll visit a private ranch and have a traditional lunch, followed by a tour of the area. You'll then spend the next three days exploring the island at your leisure before transferring to Quito for your flight home.
