The tour starts with two nights in Quito. With the Andes as its dramatic backdrop, Ecuador's capital is famed for its picturesque plazas, which you'll explore during a guided city tour.
Next, you'll head to Baños in the Amazon basin. You'll call at Cotopaxi National Park, home to an active volcano and the water-filled Quilotoa caldera, visit the Tigua community of farmers and painters, and take a rustic chiva bus to the Devil Pailon waterfall.
Next, you'll travel to the Chimborazo Province, home to Chimborazo -- Ecuador's highest mountain. From there, you'll head to Riobamba for the night. During your stay, you'll take a tour of the well-preserved Inca ruins of Ingapirca.
Your next stop will be the beautiful town of Cuenca, the centre of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can take in the town's 16th-century cobbled streets, waterside plazas and impressive royal-blue domes at your own pace, before heading to Cajas National Park the following day to visit a cocoa-growing community and hopefully spot some of the park's Andean condors.
You'll finish your time in Ecuador in the cool coastal city of Guayaquil, which has a vibrant public park along the banks of the Guayas River.
After a flight to Baltra Island, you'll take a ferry to Santa Cruz, part of the Galápagos chain, where you'll explore the island's lush landscape, which is home to giant tortoises, and have lunch at a traditional ranch.
Your next stop will be San Cristóbal, the largest Galápagos settlement. You'll have plenty of time to explore this pretty harbour town, known for its friendly sea lion population. You'll also take a boat trip to see the diverse marine life of the nearby islands.
You'll spend one final night in Quito, before returning to the UK.
