Itinerary highlights
- Johannesburg... stay in South Africa's largest city, home to Nelson Mandela Square and the Apartheid Museum. The next day you'll drive along the Panorama Route while en route to Kruger.
- Kruger National Park... this vast savannah is one of Africa's largest national parks. Spend a day on a 4x4 safari in this world-famous conservation area. You'll have the chance to spot elephants, lions, rhinoceroses, buffalo, leopards, and much more.
- Pretoria... while journeying back to Johannesburg, stop in Pretoria. See the Union Buildings—the official seat of government—before flying south to Cape Town.
- Cape Town... the city dazzles with its rich cultural diversity and world-class foodie scene. Enjoy a hop-on, hop-off bus tour. Then, take the cable car up Table Mountain for jaw-dropping city views. You'll then have two free days in the capital. We recommend visiting Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. You could also head to the Cape Winelands for an optional wine-tasting and cellar tour.
- Victoria Falls... finish by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Victoria Falls in Zambezi National Park. See its thundering columns of water and dramatic gorges capped by mist-soaked rainforest.
