Fly from Birmingham from £1809 per person; from Glasgow from £1919 per person; from Manchester from £1829 per person; or from Belfast from £1869 per person.
The tour starts in Amman, where you'll spend one night before taking a scenic drive along the King's Highway to Petra. En route, you'll call at Madaba, home to an ancient and intricate mosaic of the Holy Land; Mount Nebo, said to be where Moses first saw the Promised Land; and Kerak Castle, a Crusader castle dating from the 1100s.
The next day, you'll take a guided tour of Petra -- an ancient city in the desert with buildings carved out of the sandstone. The Independent says this city is "one of the world's most compelling historical sites, up there with the Taj Mahal and the Pyramids for romance and visual drama".
After this, you'll visit Little Petra, before taking a 4x4 ride through Wadi Rum, known as the "Valley of the Moon" for its desert landscape. You'll spend a night in Wadi Rum at the Captain's Desert Camp.
Next, you'll travel to the Dead Sea, where you can float in its hypersaline waters, and have access for the afternoon to the swimming pools at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel Resort. You'll then return to Amman for a further two nights before your flight to Egypt.
You'll spend two nights in Cairo, where you'll visit the Great Pyramid of Giza -- a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World -- and the Great Sphinx, which guards the pyramids.
From Cairo, you'll fly to Luxor to begin your cruise down the Nile. You'll get daily excursions to important archaeological sights, including the temples of Karnak and Luxor, the famous Valley of the Kings -- the burial ground for the pharaohs for hundreds of years -- and Edfu Temple, one of the largest and best preserved in Egypt. You'll then fly from Aswan to Cairo, where you'll spend one final night before your return trip home.
