The holiday begins in Hanoi with a 2-night stay. While you're in Vietnam's capital, wander around the faded colonial buildings of the French Quarter, slurp on street-food noodles in the Old Quarter -- where the Thien Thai Hotel is located -- or watch the locals practise t'ai chi at dawn on the shores of Hoan Kiem Lake.
The included tour visits Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, Tran Quoc Pagoda (Hanoi's oldest pagoda) and the Temple of Literature. You'll also take a cyclo ride and watch a traditional water-puppet show. From here, you'll take a cruise around the 1600 limestone islands of Halong Bay and stay overnight on a traditional junk boat.
After an internal flight, the next stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An. Get a suit or dress (or three) made to order in this fashion-savvy city where everyone knows a tailor, or relax on one of the many beaches nearby. After two nights, you'll travel along one of Vietnam's most scenic highways to Hue. Here, you'll visit the Imperial City and the Royal Citadel, and take a boat ride on the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda.
The final stop is Ho Chi Minh City -- tour highlights include the Reunification Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral and the sprawling Ben Thanh Market, where you'll find everything from spices and handicrafts to Vietnamese coffee and street-food stalls. On the last day you'll take an all-day boat trip on the Ben Tre River, part of the Mekong River.
