About the gardens
RHS Garden Wisley is the second most-visited paid-entry garden in the UK, only after Kew Gardens. It racks up over one million visitors per year.
Visit the cathedral-like, 12-metre high, Glasshouse, which covers an area the size of ten tennis courts. This is home to the RHS's tender plant collection and features three climatic zones. These are tropical, moist temperate, and dry temperate—it'll feel like you're walking into a jungle, with waterfalls, banana plants, and desert cacti.
The gardens also feature the Rock Garden, with probably Wisley’s oldest tree, a Japanese larch. There is the Pinetum which showcases a forest of different size trees. Explore the Walled Gardens with creative foliage and traditional box hedges. Check out The Old Laboratory, where you can learn more about the history of Wisley.
Visit on select dates to experience some of RHS Garden Wisley's yearly events. On 5–27 April join The Great Egg Hunt. Find the giant eggs and take in plants bursting with spring colour. During May half term (24 May–1 June) take part in The Great Garden Gameathon. Expect competitions for the whole family, giant games, and tricky mazes. There will also be plenty of green-fingered arts and crafts and interactive activities. On 31 May and 1 June you can visit the summer show. There will be flowering iris and the foliage of hostas. During the summer holidays (17 July–31 August) the gardens will host a wild woodland camp for children. This includes forest school, adventurous tree climbing, and campfire cooking. From 2–7 September there is Wisley Flower Show. This features late-summer gardening inspiration, expert advice, and stunning floral displays.
