Itinerary

  • Day 1: Bordeaux... join the ship and meet your fellow passengers. Enjoy a welcome cocktail with the Captain, then sit down to dinner.
  • Day 2: Libourne... is the gateway to Saint Émilion, one of Bordeaux's finest wine regions. Choose between joining a shuttle service to this Medieval village, or taking a bike tour through picturesque vineyards. Upon arrival, witness the Monolithic Church, which is carved out of a gigantic piece of limestone. You'll also tour its underground catacombs and caves.
  • Day 3: Libourne... explore the open market, sampling produce as your guide shows you the sights. Alternatively, visit an ancient windmill and learn all about breadmaking. Another option is to join a hiking trip through Libourne's vineyards, followed by wine and tapas.
  • Day 4: Blaye to Bourg... join a tour of Blaye's UNESCO-listed citadel, or go on a bike ride along the former railway line. Later on, visit Bourg. Tour the Carriage Museum's collection of horse-drawn vehicles, and see the village's World War II Petrol Cistern. This was used as vital fuel storage during the war. Meet local wine growers at this evening's exclusive wine festival, where you can sample local produce.
  • Day 5: Pauillac... explore the Médoc region's famous wine estates, and taste Grand Cru wines. Or, you could hike through the surrounding vineyards ahead of a wine tasting experience.
  • Day 6: Cadillac... today you'll visit the Castle of Roquetaillade, a Medieval masterpiece. Next, journey through the Sauternes wine region to visit one of two chateaus—Chateau de Rayne Vigneau or Château Guiraud. Sample fine wines at either chateau. Alternatively, explore the Roquetaillade and Cadillac Castles, or take a guided bike tour of Cadillac's town centre.
  • Day 7: Bordeaux... delve into the wine capital's rich culture with a guided city tour. Afterwards, visit Les Halles de Bacalan market to taste local delicacies. There's also the chance to bike along Bordeaux's cycle paths. In the afternoon, pick between two excursions. Either visit the Bordeaux Wine Museum or watch a light and sound show at Les Bassins des Lumières.
