Itinerary highlights
- Mainz... arrive and embark Spirit of the Rhine. Spend the evening settling into your cabin and exploring the ship.
- Rüdesheim... dock overnight in this quaint town nestled in the heart of Germany's wine-growing region. Wind your way through the narrow street of Drosselgasse, which is lined with traditional taverns. While there, you'll visit Siegfried's Museum of Mechanical Music, set in a 15th-century knight's residence.
- Koblenz... dock here overnight, with free time to explore in the morning. Visit the point where the rivers meet (Deutsches Eck), or ride the cable car across the water. The next day, cruise through the Middle Rhine, which is home to roughly 40 hilltop castles and fortresses.
- Cologne... see city highlights on a walking tour. See the twin-spired Cologne Cathedral and the characteristic buildings of the Medieval old town.
- Boppard... boasting over 2000 years of history, Boppard sits in the valley of the mythical Lorelei rock. This afternoon, enjoy an included wine-tasting session onboard the ship.
- Mainz... you'll get a full day and overnight onboard here before heading to Frankfurt airport. Admire its pretty half-timbered houses and St Stephen's cathedral. Its stained-glass windows were designed by Marc Chagall.
About the ship
Spirit of the Rhine is a 5-star river ship, with sleek decor and pastel tones throughout.
The main restaurant offers four or five courses during evening meals. Complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks are available with lunch and dinner. Sip on all-inclusive drinks from 9am to midnight. High tea is served once per week, and a selection of sandwiches and cakes daily. Passengers can also help themselves to tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout the day.
There's a sun deck with a splash pool and sun loungers, and an area for games. You'll also be able to order drinks to your deck chair. Relax in the library lounge, or head to the gym for a workout.
