Itinerary

  • Vienna... is home to lavish palaces and stately boulevards. After arriving at the airport, you'll be transferred to the port to embark Spirit of the Danube
  • Durnstein... is a colourful, riverside town with a hilltop castle where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned during the late 12th century.
  • Linz... is known for its cutting-edge cultural scene and its futuristic Ars Electronica Center technology museum. It also has a contrasting quaint Old Town with cobblestone streets and independent boutiques.
  • Passau... sits at the confluence of three rivers—the Ilz from the north, the Danube from the west, and the Inn from the south. You'll see some of the city's highlights on the included tour, such as the Baroque St Stephen's Cathedral, which is home to the largest church organ in the world. 
  • Melk... cruise through the stunning Wachau Valley to Melk, featuring a famous clifftop abbey.
  • Tulln... is a historic Austrian town, known for its many parks and gardens. You'll enjoy an included tour to the botanical Garden Tulln.
  • Vienna... the cruise finishes back in Vienna, where you'll take an included coach tour of the Austrian capital, including travelling along the famous Ringstrasse and past the opera house.

About the ship
The Spirit of the Danube is a 5-star river ship, with sleek decor and pastel tones throughout. 

The main restaurant, Panorama, offers four or five courses during evening meals. Passengers can also dine in the speciality restaurant, Delta, free of charge. Passengers can help themselves to tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout the day, and sandwiches and cakes are available in the afternoon.

There's a large sun deck with a splash pool and plenty of sun loungers, as well as an area for deck games. You'll also be able to order drinks to your deck chair. Relax in the library lounge, or head to the gym for a workout. 

On the 29 August sailing, art and antiques specialist Wayne Colquhoun will join you on board and give two talks. Best known for appearing on BBC's Antiques Roadshow, Wayne is an expert in Classic Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and Applied Arts.
