Itinerary
First, you'll fly to Athens, where you'll spend a night at Acropolis Museum Boutique Hotel. Tripadvisor users praise the "excellent location" — the property is within walking distance of the Acropolis, and is one block from Plaka, the oldest neighbourhood in Athens. This is the most photographed part of the city, according to Culture Trip, with pretty tavernas, sugar-white streets, and Classical architecture.
The following day, you'll board Celestyal Experience for a 4-night cruise to Cyprus. You'll disembark at Port Said, from where you'll travel to Cairo for a full-day excursion. You'll take a guided tour the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx, and you'll visit the National Archaeological Museum to see the treasures of King Tutankhamun.
The next port of call will be Ashdod, a city on the Mediterranean coast of Israel. Ashdod has been continuously inhabited since biblical times — its ancient ruined fortress is reputed to be the resting place of the remains of the prophet Jonah — and it is now a cosmopolitan centre fringed by white-sand beaches. Jerusalem can be reached in around one hour in a private taxi, or by pre-booking with an independent touring company.
Finally, you'll make port in Cyprus, where you'll spend three nights at The Josephine Hotel in Larnaca. The property has a rooftop swimming pool with sea views, and is praised by Tripadvisor users as "immaculate". The beach is two minutes' walk away.
