Itinerary highlights
You'll stay at the Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa the night after your flight. The resort is on Beau Vallon beach, and has five restaurants and two bars. Relax and unwind before embarking from Port Victoria the next morning.
- Farquhar Atoll, Seychelles... these remote islands, located on the outer fringes of the Seychelles, are truly off grid. Here, you can see the rare red-footed booby and exotic bird-eating fish.
- Cosmoledo Atoll, Seychelles... explore the vibrant coral reefs that are swimming with marine life. Keep an eye out for manta rays and giant green turtles, too.
- Aldabra Atoll, Seychelles... this massive raised coral atoll is home to the world's largest colony of giant tortoises. There are over 100,000 packed onto this isolated archipelago.
- Assumption Island, Seychelles... look for geckos, butterflies, and more tortoises on this low-lying island. Or, simply relax on the white-sand beach that stretches right along the coast.
- Zanzibar, Tanzania... you could wander for hours through the narrow, cobbled streets of Stone Town. It blends African, Arabian, European, and Indian architecture. The strong, rich coffee is the stuff of legend.
- Pemba Island, Tanzania... this lush and hilly island is renowned for its biodiverse forests. The Pemba flying fox, indigenous to the island, has a wingspan over five feet.
- Lamu, Kenya... learn all about Swahili culture at this ancient town's fort and museum. You might already know more than you think—it's where the phrase "hakuna matata" comes from.
- Mombasa, Kenya... sail back into Kenya and transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
About the ship
Swan Hellenic is a British cruise line that has pioneered expedition cruising since the 1950s. It is dedicated to taking passengers to remote, unexplored regions. SH Diana carries just 192 passengers—small enough to call at the most out-of-the-way ports.
There are floor-to-ceiling windows in most public areas. A real highlight is the heated infinity pool at the rear. Food and drink is included 24/7, with Michelin-designed menus. There's also a world-class cellar of classic vintages, natural wines, premium spirits, and craft beers.
Guests are attended by 120 crew, so the standard of service is exemplary. Experts at the top of their fields accompany each voyage, with lectures every day.
