You'll begin with three nights in the vibrant city of Tokyo, where you'll have plenty of time to explore. You could head to Ginza, the city's famous high-end shopping district, or the Kabuki-za theatre, where you can see traditional Japanese dance and drama. Whilst here, you'll enjoy a sushi-making class, during which you will learn about the history of sushi and make the dish yourself, as well as a 10-course wagyu (Japanese beef; one of the most expensive meats in the world) & sake pairing dinner.

Then, board Regatta for a 12-night cruise. Champagne, wine, and beers are covered at mealtimes, as well as Speciality Dining. You'll call at:

  • Nagoya... your first stop boasts one of the largest, and most spectacular, castles in Japan, and is also a major economic and industrial centre, with a rich history and culture.
  • Osaka... sample the incredible street food and neon art here, or head further inland to Kyoto. We recommend visiting Gion, the geisha district, where you can look out for hostesses in colourful kimonos on the wooden Tatsumi Bridge.
  • Hiroshima... its name will always evoke the images of the atomic bomb, but nowadays the city flourishes with raucous karaoke bars, delicious food, and cutting-edge museums.
  • Nagasaki... was the only city connected to the outside world during Japan's centuries of isolation. Visit the old Portuguese district by the harbour, wander the oldest Chinatown in Japan, and tour the Atomic Bomb Museum to learn more about the city's dedication to peace and nuclear disarmament.
  • Shanghai (overnight onboard)... Lonely Planet says of this stop: 'few cities in the world evoke so much history, glamour, mystique and exotic promise in name alone'. Visit the Yuyuan Gardens and Bazaar, the Bund, and the Jade Buddha Temple during your time at this iconic destination.
  • Xiamen... this stop is known for its mild climate, Minnan culture, and wonderful seascape. There are plenty of islands and beaches to explore, including the UNESCO World Heritage site of Gulangyu Island, know as the 'Garden on the Sea'.
  • Hong Kong (overnight onboard)... admire a beautiful cityscape as you approach this iconic skyline. You could visit Victoria Peak, the highest point on the island, or see the Po Lin Monastery and Big Buddha.

Ship details
Oceania is a luxury cruise line known for its cuisine quality. Regatta is a ship on the smaller side, carrying 694 passengers at full capacity, so things never feel too crowded.

By day you will find games, classes, and activities on the ship, but night-time entertainment is where this vessel shines. Head to the Regatta Lounge for full-scale productions, or you could visit the piano bar for a more intimate performance. There are also themed night-time parties onboard.

This package covers access to 5 restaurants, including the two speciality venues onboard—Toscana serves Italian cuisine, an the Polo Grill is a dinner-only steak and seafood restaurant. Champagne, wine, and beers are included at mealtimes, and there are four bars onboard, including one which is poolside, and a martini bar.
