Itinerary highlights
- Doha, Qatar... you'll spend the first two nights of your cruise-and-stay holiday at the 4-star Millennium Central Doha, on the Arabian Gulf. The New York Times describes the Qatari capital as "an outdoor architecture museum" for its spectacular, sci fi-style buildings and cutting-edge museums. We recommend wandering the labyrinthine markets of old Souq Waqif, spending the day at the Museum of Islamic Art or dining at the internationally acclaimed restaurant, Nobu, before setting sail aboard the Norwegian Dawn.
- Dubai, UAE… a city of contrasts, combining "ambitious futuristic vision" with "starkly evocative desert splendor" (Lonely Planet). Experience exotic Arabia in the bustling souks of the Deira district, or a night in a Bedouin tent with belly dancing under the starlit desert skies.
- Muscat, Oman…refined, elegant, with wide, palm-fringed roads, Oman’s capital city Muscat has serious cultural appeal. Head to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque for stunning architecture, and The National Museum is where you can admire some of Oman's most precious historic artefacts.
- La Digue, Seychelles… Seychelles' most-third inhabited island and a "marvel", according to Lonely Planet. its coastline is brimming with "heart-palpitatingly gorgeous beaches", including Anse Marron, considered one of the most stunning beaches in the world. A slower pace of life is embraced here, so laid-back that visiting feels like a step back in time.
- Mombasa, Kenya... this vibrant port is a melting pot of cultures from all over the Indian Ocean. Wander the alleys of the charming old town, and visit the 16th-century Portuguese fort.
- Zanzibar, Tanzania... an old fort, plenty of mosques, bathhouses, cool interior courtyards, and lively markets are remnants of the Persian and Omani Arabs in Stone Town, its capital city, surrounded by blissful, sugar-sand beaches.
- Antsirarana (Diego Suarez), Madagascar... with its wide streets, buzzy atmosphere, and colonial-era architecture this port along a vast natural harbour is a great base to explore the country's northern region from.
- Port Louis, Mauritius... arrive in Mauritius' capital for a 5-night stay at the 4-star (adults only) Sunrise Attitude, Mauritius. You'll wake up to the sound of swaying palms and gentle waves and spend your days relaxing on the whiter-than-white sands of Belle Mare beach. Mauritius has plenty to do beyond the resort. Take a hike in the forests, discover hidden lagoons, and swim in waterfall plunge pools inland. You should also visit Fort Adelaide, from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the town, and surrounding harbour. At the end of your stay, transfer to the airport to catch your flight home.
